  1. UK answer.

I have just checked out the GRO details for Thomas Byrne, was his death registered in Chatham in Kent. According to the details in the index for the J/F/M quarter he was actually 49 years old when he died, making his year of birth 1895.

I ask this because I did a search on ancestry.co.uk and it came up with this information,

British Army WWI Pension Records 1914-1920

    about Thomas Byrne

    Name: Thomas Byrne

    Estimated Birth Year: abt 1895

    Age at enlistment: 19

    Birth Parish: Dublin

    Birth County: Dublin

    Document Year: 1914

    Regimental number: 41229

    Number of Images: 10

Could this possibly be him, might he have fought in the first world war as well.
