What is the historical period of the book and what is the historical setting? The two sort of confuse me and i don't what what to write as the period and the setting of it.

  1. The question is a bit confusing because your book isn't fiction.

    Historical setting and historical period (what the difference is I don't know) have to do with where and when the action of a book takes place.   While it is possible to describe a historical setting and period which some non-fiction books cover -- for instance, a book about Lewis and Clark's expedition coves the American West in 1804-1806 -- for survey books like the one you read the question doesn't make much sense.

    Your best bet is to say something like -- the Middle East prior to 70 a.d.
