Thomas Cook online accepts 'default' details when booking holiday. is this right?

Thomas Cook online, DOB is default yet their system still accepts?

When you book holiday with Thomas Cook online, their system has defaullts for 'date of birth'. Strangely, this is accepted when booking confirmed even though you may have forgotten to enter details! Is this right? Shouldn't Thomas Cook do something about this?
