Thomas Duvall pockets Men's 800m freestyle gold: Day one – USA Swimming Sectionals,

Thomas Duvall of UN pocketed gold medal of the Men's 800m freestyle on primary day of the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin at the Lake Forest Swim Club on Thursday, March 8.
The Pleasant Prairie championship is a four-day swimming meet, which is a division of the 2012 Speedo Champions Series.
The 18-year-old Duvall smothered struggles of his challengers by capturing gold medal of the 800m event. With his praiseworthy efforts, Duvall remained in a comfortable lead over his competitors throughout the distant freestyle event and reached the podium
for gold medal.
With his commendable struggles, Duvall posted an effort of 8 minutes and 25.44 seconds for the title. His title claiming effort remained almost fourteen seconds ahead of his strongest challenger, William Rohde of Peddie Aquatic Association, who followed
him on the victory stand for silver medal by clocking 8 minutes and 39.19 seconds.
He was followed by Brian Poon of Phoenix Swimming, who stayed 1.36 seconds apart from outsmarting the silver medallist and reached the victory stand for bronze medal by producing a time of 8 minutes and 40.55 seconds.
The third position holder was trailed by Travis Thompson of West Bend Swim Club, who suffered a deficit of almost three seconds and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth position holder by submitting an effort of 8 minutes and 43.19 seconds.
The fifth finest spot of the race was secured by Trent Jackson of Iowa Flyers Swim and Christopher Angerhofer of Sioux Falls Snow, who were 1.09 seconds slower from their preceding swimmer and hit the finishing wall with an identical timing of 8 minutes
and 44.28 seconds.
Similarly, Joseph Szczupakiewicz of Southwest Aquatics snared seventh best spot of the race as he concluded his swim in a time of 8 minutes and 44.87 seconds. He was followed by Szczupakiewicz’s team-member, Patrick Walsh, who stayed about three seconds
slower from his preceding finisher and posted 8 minutes and 47.21 seconds.
In addition, the championship will continue for three more days and will conclude on March 11 after the conclusion of all listed events in Boys and Girls category.
