The former Dortmund attacker has left Germany to join London giants, Arsenal, on the deadline day of the January transfer window.
Thomas Eisfeld has signed to play for Arsenal after spending seven years in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 with Borussia Dortmund. The attacking midfielder failed to make any senior team appearances for the Black Yellows, and decided to test his skills
in the English Premier League. The youngster joined the Gunners for a reported fee of 420,000 pounds.
The midfielder expressed delight on joining Arsene Wenger’s side and has vowed to achieve success in the Arsenal colours. He mentioned that it is an honour for him play alongside some big name players including Tomas Rosicky, who
himself spent five glorious years at Dortmund, bagging 19 league goals from 126 appearances, before leaving for Arsenal in 2006.
While talking to the official club website, the 19-year-old further added:
“I feel very proud to have signed for Arsenal. This is a great club, with many great players, and I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal. It’s a real honour to be team mates with the great players at Arsenal, and also training everyday
with players like Tomas Rosicky - who I grew up watching play at Dortmund.”
On the other hand, the youngster reserved gratitude for his former club for helping him develop through the youth ranks. He opined that it is all because of his coaches and trainers that he has been successful in his career and
is looking forward to playing for one of the best sides in English football.
"I would also like to thank Borussia Dortmund, where I played for the last seven years, for everything they have done for me. I had a great time there, and there were many wonderful coaches who helped me get to where I am today,"
Eisfeld concluded.
The young midfielder joined Dortmund’s youth set-up in 2005 at the age of 12 and has now left to start another exciting journey in North London on January 31, 2012. He played his first game in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 reserves on Wednesday, February
1, where he provided an assist in helping his new side to go into the lead.
