Thomas Muller: I rejected Chelsea right after the 2010 World Cup- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller has revealed that he rejected an offer from English Premier League giants, Chelsea, right after the 2010 World Cup concluded.
Having spent three years at Allianz-Arena, the player is committed to his role at the club and has no immediate plans of making a move out of Germany.
The versatile player clearly stated his desire of staying at the club for a long time despite offers coming from various top clubs. He confirmed of interest coming from three top Premier League sides but is determined to serve the Reds at least for the length
of his current contract.
The 22-year-old, as always, has been a first team regular this term and has already bagged two goals from eight league appearances. The midfielder c*m forward vowed to maintain his consistent run of form for the rest of the term and has wished to regain
the lost crown.
While telling a local newspaper of his decision to reject Chelsea, Muller enthused, ‘I wasn’t just offered a little after the World Cup – I refused several offers, including one from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. It’s an honourable club, and it’s not something that’s offered
every day, but I didn’t think it was reasonable to make that step at such a young age.”
He further added, “A change would have been ridiculous after only one year playing as a pro, and at my age you have to play. Now I see no reason why I should move, I love Bayern.”
Muller landed at Allianz-Arena in 2008 and so far has 27 goals under his belt from 80 league appearances. He earned his DFB-Eleven debut in 2010 and has 22 caps to his name until now to go along with his eight goals.
Muller will next be seen in action against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904’s record breaking EURO 2012 qualification.
