The Bayern Munich attacker is relieved after breaking his goal-scoring drought against FC Kaiserslautern last weekend.
Thomas Muller has expressed his delight after scoring his second goal of the season in the league. The attacker was going through a lean patch since last November when he scored his first goal of the campaign. The youngster has
been under scrutiny for his below par performances and his inability to score of late, but has responded in the perfect manner.
Bayern played hosts to Kaiserslautern on Saturday, February 11, at the Allianz Arena. The Reds emerged as 2-0 winners, courtesy goals from Mario Gomez and Muller. Both the goals came inside the first-half as Bayern closed the gap
on reigning German champions, Borussia Dortmund. Gomez put his side ahead in just the sixth minute before Muller leaped high in the air to head home his team’s second goal of the evening on the 30th minute mark.
Muller showed gratitude to all his fans for their support and assured them of continuing this impressive run in the future games.
While addressing to fans through his Facebook page, the 22-year-old further added: "Hello all. Many thanks for the congratulations! It was nice to finally score a goal. I've never jumped so high in the air.”
On the other hand, the German international insisted that his leg injury during the same game is not serious and he will be back next week. Muller was substituted in the 56th minute following the knock and there had
been reports that the injury could put the player out for weeks.
However, the Best Young Player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup confirmed about his recovery process, and reckons that he will be fit for the game against Freiburg on Saturday, February 18.
"Although unfortunately at the same time, I suffered a dead leg. It was definitely worth it for me. Today we have the day off, so hopefully I can recover from it. In the morning, we have two sessions scheduled. Freiburg are waiting
for us on Saturday, we must continue our streak. Good week, your Thomas," Muller concluded.
