The Bayern Munich midfielder is targeting a victory in the second-leg of the UEFA Champions League knock-out stage fixture.
Thomas Muller is confident that Bayern Munich can qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League by beating Basel in the second-leg at home. The Munich giants will host Basel on Tuesday, March 13, at the Allianz Arena.
Jupp Heynckes’ side are currently trailing their Swiss counterparts after losing 1-0 in the first-leg last month.
The midfielder claimed that the Reds are favourites against the Swiss opposition suffering defeat in the first-leg. He mentioned that the recent 7-1 drubbing of Hoffenheim last weekend justifies Bayern’s return to form at such
an important stage of the season.
Muller assured that his side will emerge victorious if they continue from where they had left against Hoffenheim on Saturday, March 10.
While talking to a sports publication, Bild, the 22-year-old further added:
“We have to cancel out their lead, but I'm confident. If we play like we did (on Saturday), without a care in the world, with so much passion, with plenty of bite in the tackle and utter determination up front, we can do it.”
