Both managers share different concerns as the Werder Bremen and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 prepare for a highly anticipated clash over the weekend.
Thomas Schaaf is confident of achieving all three points against Nuremberg as the two sides lock horns on Saturday, February 25, at the Weserstadion. Bremen are currently fifth on the league standings and on course for a place
in Europe next season. Nuremberg, on the other hand, are in the bottom half of the table but a win could put them back into the top ten.
The manager admitted that his side is looking forward to winning the game and are getting better and better with every passing day. However, he stressed on the importance of wins in the remaining games of the competition and wants
his troops to give their one-hundred percent in order to stay in contention for the European spot.
While talking during the pre-match press conference, the 50-year-old tactician further added: "We are getting closer to the football that we want to see, but the important thing now is that we take the next step and don't relax.”
Bremen’s sporting director, Klaus Allofs, stated that the River Islanders need to bring consistency in their game if they want to secure the fifth spot and possibly move further up. He admitted that Bayer Leverkusen and Hannover
are keeping Bremen on their toes and certainly possess threat to his side’s European ambitions.
“Hannover and Leverkusen are right on our heels and we must therefore keep winning," Allofs added.
On the other hand, the Nuremberg manager expressed his desire to register a win over Schaaf’s boys. He opined that a win would boost his side’s confidence whose major objective is to survive relegation.
Die Legende are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone but a loss to Bremen will leave them with lot of ground to cover in the remaining games of the competition.
"A win would give us a decisive advantage over the relegation zone. And it would be a big boost to self-confidence too," Hecking concluded.
Bremen are eight points short of fourth placed, Schalke, and require at least a top six finish to cement their place in next season’s UEFA Europa League.
