The manager has signed a new contract to drive off interest from many other clubs for his signature in the summer.
FSV Mainz have tied up Thomas Tuchel until 2015 and have ended speculation regarding the manager’s future. Tuchel was linked to a host of clubs in the upcoming summer transfer window but the club has made sure they hang on to the

Tuchel added that he is very thankful to the fans and the club officials for supporting him throughout and wants to repay their faith by qualifying for Europe next season.
“The management of Mainz are offering me the opportunity to mould the identity of this club and, together with my coaching team, develop it continuously. We would like to establish Mainz as a sustained Bundesliga side. The feeling
of being valued that I have had from the club and the fans in recent years is something special,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
The manager has had a very successful time with the O-Fives since his appointment in 2009 and guided them to an impressive UEFA Europa League spot last year. He has also guided the side to safety this year and the team sits in
13th place with 39 points from the 33 games played.
Mainz general manager Christian Heidel added was ecstatic with the news and admitted that he is certainly the right man for his side.
“Thomas Tuchel is an absolute expert and, with the way he lives and breathes football, he is just the right coach for Mainz,” he concluded.
