The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 manager is not worried about the local derby against Kaiserslautern as both teams fight for survival in the Bundesliga.
Thomas Tuchel is looking forward to winning the game against FC Kaiserslautern this weekend and has admitted that his team cannot afford any more setbacks. Both sides are due to meet on Saturday, February 25, at the Coface Arena.
Mainz are not far away from the relegation zone and Tuchel is aiming for all three points to keep his side away from the bottom three places.
Mainz have not been in the best of form recently which has caused frustration amongst the fans, who certainly expected better after a fifth place finish last term. This situation will certainly put extra pressure on the home side
manager who is trying to keep his players relax ahead of the important game.
Tuchel admitted that the game is a crucial one and insisted that his players need to show the same intensity and anticipation for every game.
While talking during the pre-match press conference, the 38-year-old tactician further added:
"For me it does not matter who is on the other side. I don't go about my work in a different way to any other Bundesliga game. I think we have to put our emotions into every game we play."
The manager mentioned that Mainz will not play for revenge as they lost 3-1 to the opposition in the first-half of the campaign. Tuchel expressed his desire to claim all three points in front of the home crowd and go nine points
clear of their opponents on the points table.
“I think we have to put our emotions into every game we play. Tomorrow we have a home game in a completely different situation with a different position for both clubs, different players, and the first game between us was half
a year ago anyway," Tuchel concluded.
Mainz are currently 13th on the league standings with 24 points while Kaiserslautern are reeling in the drop zone at the 16th spot with 18 points. A win for Kaiserslautern could get them up to 15th
spot but a loss could even push them down to the bottom of the standings.
