Thomas Vermaelen claims Arsenal are ready for new season – Premier League News
Arsenal defender and Belgian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are more than ready for the upcoming season.
Arsenal are set to start their season by taking on Newcastle, followed by a Champions League qualification match and a game against Premier League title holders, Manchester United. Despite that seeming like a rather tough start to the season, Vermaelen feels
that Arsenal have what it takes to beat the competition.
Following those games, Arsenal will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, in hopes to try and prove that making numerous signings doesn’t help a team change its fate altogether.
Nonetheless, despite the ridiculously challenging start to the new campaign, Vermaelen has claimed that the club’s preparations have gotten him and the rest of the squad mentally prepared to take on just about anyone.
Vermaelen, when talking about the upcoming season is quoted to have said:“We have worked hard and I feel we are ready for it because the fitness is good in the team and as a group we feel good"
The player feels that the team is on top of its fitness and with everyone back from suffering injuries, there is very little that can be done to falter the team’s path this time around.
The defender then talked about the positive impact of having a successful pre season and hoped for it to help the team through.
“We have had a good pre-season over the past few weeks. In pre-season, the most important thing is training hard and getting your fitness back.’
Vermaelen then went on to highlight the fact that despite flying back and forth, the team was actually pushing themselves in training sessions and this was bound to help the players get back into top form.
“We worked really hard in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844, so that was a tough week for us to get our fitness back.
"I think that week was really important and we were very pleased with that.”
Vermaelen is being rather optimistic to say the least. The defender is well aware of the fact that the team is set to lose out on two of its best players, but he still feels that the Gunners have what it takes to go all the way this coming season.
Should Arsene Wenger go on to make the appropriate signings, then Arsenal might just be able to go ahead and actually push for a title or two. However, if Wenger decides to keep a hold of his cheque book once again, then Arsenal might just end up winning
nothing, once again.
