Thomas Vermaelen wants Arsenal to forget the past and focus on the future
Arsenal defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 has gone on to urge his team to forget the mishaps of the seasons past and focus on the upcoming season. The player feels that if the team keeps thinking about the past, they won’t be able to focus on the future and as
a result, would fail to achieve much once again.
Vermaelen when talking about Arsenal and how they should go about the upcoming season is quoted to have said: “Everybody starts from zero and everybody has to start again”
“You get a new chance and that’s always a good feeling when people give you another chance to win something. The past is behind us and it’s good to look into the future.
“That’s what we do now - we start all over again with a new chance and we will go for it this year.”
The player then went on to state that the team needs to focus on the pre-season games, in order to have a good season. He feels that the team needs to develop a strong foundation in the build up to the season and should they do that, they would be able
to run havoc in the league this coming season.
Arsenal are set to face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Boca-Juniors-c38658 and the New York Red Bulls in the Emirates cup, staring July 30th and should they keep their pre-season form up, they are more than likely to crush their opponents.
A highly eager Vermaelen when talking about these upcoming games is reported to have said: “These are the first games we play at the Emirates in the season so it always feels like a new start”
“It feels like that so I am looking forward to playing there.
“They are two very different kinds of teams and two very different kinds of challenges.”
This past season saw Vermaelen suffer from his fair share of problems. The team’s star defender went on to pick up a mysterious Achilles injury and that injury ruled him for nearly ninety percent of the season.
However, in his absence some of the younger defenders really took to the lime light and established themselves in the squad.
Nonetheless, with Vermaelen now back to full fitness and looking to go all out every opportunity he gets, it seems more than likely that Arsenal will be stronger than ever at the back, this coming season.
Should http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 become solid at the back this coming season, they could be guaranteed to go ahead and end their six year trophy drought.
