Thomas hearns V sugar Ray?

Question

I watch the second fight between Sugar Ray and Thomas Hearns the judges call the fight a draw that was a joke Hearns won every round but two. I love Sugar Ray but he got his *** kicked. So which fighter is better? I know who I think is better.

Hearns definitely won the fight but Sugar Ray stole points by his last 30 second flurry punches. The punches didn't hurt Hearns but the high connect percentage gave the win Sugar Ray.

Hearns was the better puncher but Leonard had the better chin.  That's the big difference.  Boxing ability these guys are equal.  Hearns was a great boxer puncher but his chin was weak..   Although in their last fight against each other Leonard was down twice.  Hearns was more known to have the weaker chin.  I always liked Hearns attitude and the way he carried himself better than Leonard though.  I would say based on direct fights against each other they are equal.

Anyone who saw that fight knows Hearns was robbed.

Hearns was ahead in the first fight, got tired, and knocked out.

Despite that questionable draw during the second Hearns fight, still Ray Leonard is the better fighter.

Thumbs up Elmer. Hearns won the 2nd fight no doubt, but Hearns barely made it through the 12th round. Leonard had him out on his feet. If the fight went 15, I don't think Hearns would still be standing.

In their prime, Ray Leonard was better.  As it bore out.  Hearns won the second fight, even Ray admitted it.  But I'm not a "what if" kind of guy, but IF the second fight had been a 15 rounder, Ray would have won it.  Ray was the better 15 round fighter, Hearns was the better 12 round fighter.

hearns won that rematch, even without the knockdowns,  but leonard was the better boxer.

This one's easy.   Styles make fights.   Leonard can beat some guys who would give Hearns trouble.  At 147, Leonard is the better fighter.  Leonard proved he can fight with Hearns at the higher weight but, overall, 154 and above, Hearns is the better fighter.  

Ever wonder why Leonard never fought Hearns at 154?  Hearns killed himself to make 147.  Leonard always carried the weight better.  Hearns was much stronger at 154 and 160  where Leonard, though still as talented, didn't carry all his speed to the higher weights.  

Leonard carried 154 well.  He didnt decline until he moved to 160 and above.  He was nearly as good at 154 as he was at 147.  The difference is that Hearns was much better at 154 than he was at 147.  

At welter, Leonard is better.

Anything 154 and above,   Hearns is better.
