Im flying to lanzarote with thomson in a couple of weeks and im abit worried about the flight because of the bad reviews i've read but i have just found this saying that that my flight will have seat back tv's and a 33" seat pitch. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/editorial-images/legroom310807.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/press-centre/33-legroom.html&h=260&w=335&sz=19&hl=en&start=17&tbnid=QlsuOD3zsLjgKM:&tbnh=92&tbnw=119&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dthomsonfly%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den (It says it near the bottom of the page). Do you think this is actually true because i know what thompson are like! Have you flown with thompson before?

  1. we've done it and to Lanzarote too. Its not too bad. We had tv's.

  2. Seat back TV's etc are on the Boeing 767s, which are used for long haul flights.

Lanzarote is a short haul flight and is operated by a 757, so no seat back TVs etc.

  3. I've flown with Thomson and no there wasn't tv's in the head rests. However it wasn't a bad experience.

  4. If you have one of the more expensive tickets you will have your own tv (but i flew to gran canaria and I don't think this was an option). There will be several tvs in the cabin, take some headphones with you (or you can buy them onboard) and you can listen and watch the tv, and listen to one of the radio stations (i think theres about 10). You can find out about the in flight entertainment here http://www.thomsonfly.com/en/flywithus_1...

  5. the 33" seat pitch is only on long haul routes, so probably not, but if one of their long haul aircraft gets assigned for your route, then  youd get it. Whether you get seat back tv is going to be dependant on aircraft.

  6. Are you travelling to Lanzarote from Birmingham on a Sunday flight?  If so, this is one of the selected "short" haul flights with the bigger 33" seat pitch.   Thomson are not advertising this facility on any other Lanzarote flight.

I don't think however the package for this flight will give you a seat back T.V., but you may be lucky.   However, do not despair as there will be T.V's spaced out on the ceiling above the aisle, for which you will need headphones.   If you have them, take your own as they charge around £2.50 for them.

I have flown with Thomsonfly many times, most recently earlier this month on the Gatwick/Girona route.   The aircraft was a new 737-800, and the flight and service couldn't be faulted.    I've already booked more flights with them for March, '09, and it's either them or Easyjet for me.

    Have a great holiday.
