Question:

Thoreau???

I'll make this simple. I'm doing a project, and I basically need to BE Henry David Thoreai for five minutes. I have some ideas, but what things going on today would he object to, and why?

(e.g. Walden Pond is now a swimming lake, and you have to pay to get in. He would be pissed.)

Thanks, and 10 points best answer.

  1. He would be very upset that when he made his acts of civil disobedience he was taken to jail and immediately released on his own recognizance not spending any time in jail to make his point. Then he'd find his case had been plea bargained and he only had to pay a trivial fine and a small amount of probation. Then he'd be further upset when he broke his probation and found that the probation officer refused to put him in jail. Makes for an unhappy civil disobedient .
