Thoresby likely to claim Coolmore NH Sires Handicap Hurdle
Thoresby has got a chance of making his team proud in the Coolmore NH Sires Handicap Hurdle at Kempton in England on Monday, November 26, 2012. He does not have a very good winning percentage in this format, but the performances have not been bad at all.
A total of 11 runners have been attracted towards the class-4 contest, which is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 GMT. All of them will be looking to make a strong impression in order to claim a cash prize of £4,241 at the end of the day.
Things will not be easy for any of them, as there has been some rain around this venue. Due to this, the conditions have become soft and the stallions will be required to push a little harder than usual. They will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles
and 5 furlongs, which will test their stamina to the limit.
According to the bookmakers, the best chances of victory are with South Stack, who has done well under these conditions in the past. His team will be hoping for a strong result on a wet track and the punters will also be interested in risking some money
on him.
The seven-year-old gelding has been given a general starting price of 9 to 2 and his confidence level will be good because of his recent performances. He finished as a runner up last time around and will be looking to make an improvement today. He was not
rated as the favourite to succeed back then, but still did a very good job for his team in the end.
However, the favourite runner was beaten by Thoresby back then, which is why there will be some pressure on him.
Thoresby has been given pretty decent odds for a victory today, but he would have fancied his chances more on a dry surface. He will still not give up hope, as he is a strong runner and can deliver a solid run at Kempton.
The Ben Case’s trainee finished third in his most recent race, which means that his rhythm is good at the moment. He will be accompanied by Wayne Hutchinson in the race. The pair has come together for the first time.
