The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 manager has insisted that the club will avoid relegation, after falling at home to one of the relegation candidates.
Hamburger tactician, Thorsten Fink, has ensured that he will not let the Red Shorts fall down into the second division by the end of this campaign. He was talking in the wake of his team’s 3-1 loss to Freiburg on Saturday, March
17, at the Imtech Arena.
This loss has pushed Hamburg down to the 14th spot with only two points separating them from the relegation zone. However, Fink is confident that avoiding the drop will not be a huge problem for his side as they are
well aware of the danger and are determined to fight for survival.
Fink claimed that Hamburg are not relegation candidates and will definitely regain their lost touch in the coming games. He admitted that his players have not been at their best in the past five games but termed their loss to Freiburg
as unlucky.
While talking to a sports website, sportinglife.com, the 44-year-old further added: "We are not a relegation candidate. We are in a relegation battle, but we are not a relegation candidate - we are too good. The team is united,
we at the club are united and I believe that the fans are behind us too.”
Fink insisted that Hamburg’s primary task is to finish this season on a high. He assured that the Imtech Arena outfit will give more than hundred percent in order to achieve their goal and come out with a new approach in the next
season.
"We will try to put our foot down and fight. My quality as a player was always my endurance and I will try to prove that as a coach now. I am convinced that the team has the quality to avoid relegation. That is our aim, our task,
and we accept the challenge," the boss concluded.
Hamburg are currently 14th with 27 points and staring into relegation with eight games remaining in the competition. Their next challenge will come at the Volkswagen Arena against Wolfsburg on Friday, March 23.
