Those Texans! Can they Do It?

Still have 50 games to play, but both Texas Teams are trying to make noise and a run at WC.

Many dont realize that Rangers are just 5 games behind, and their pressent series with Yanks is some what big, being they could gain even more ground, and after this evenings slam in the 9th by Byrd, their high powered offense, first in league is awesome. However question always is their pitching.

Astros, Moehler is leading Dempsters Cubs 2-0 in the 8th, who woudl have thought? Can Astros display one of their infamous comeback/winning streaks and contend? They are 7.5 back with 50 left in the weak inconsistent NL. Do you think these 2 teams can shock baseball my gettign the WC? Why/ why not?

  1. there pitching would have to be tremendous rest of they year they have a good offense but its the pitching that would be there akilies heel.

  2. A Common Problem Both Texas teams have is lack of Starting Pitching.

The Rangers are so out of the Division race. The Wild Card SEEMS reachable, but very uncertain with 3 teams in front of them.

The Astros COULD have a famous second half comeback, but I can't see them making the playoff's. They have too many improved teams they must leap over to do anything.

Believe me I'm Crossing my Fingers.

  3. I dont know what the Astros are doing.  They're out of the race and there buying a bunch of players and pretending their good.  I think their just in denial.

  4. Astros were pretty good at the start of the season, but I've sort of lost focus on them; I'm too busy screaming at Rangers games and checking on the O's via the Internet.  (No one's wondering if the O's can shock anybody... *sniff sniff*)

But dang, these Rangers play their hearts out at EVERY game!

I just love watching them play games, because every night, even down by 4 or 5 runs, we have a legitimate chance of winning!

This team has terrific chemistry; they do funny, quirky things with each other... Like the Red Rangers Finger that they rub on a player after a good play, or the finger moustache the bullpen does every time Ramon Vazquez comes up to bat (referring to the moustache he had when pictures were taken).

Face it: A-Rod and Tex are missing out.  Neither of them wanted to be here, and that turned out to be a good thing!  There are no problems in the clubhouse, and who needs Tex when we got Chris Davis?  I mean, I know he's a rookie, but there's great potential there.

I really think this season and the next few seasons could be special for the Rangers.  I love how they never give up and they always believe in themselves, no matter how big the deficit.

I seriously think that the Rangers are the most fun to watch, because honestly, no other team can come back this consistently and often (including my O's... *sniff*).

I believe they can take the Wild Card.  How could I not?  If they believe in themselves so much, how could I not believe in them as much, if not more?

  5. I really hope so. We have a great chemistry and I know for fact all these guys want to be on our team unlike Tiexiera or A-Rod. This is why its great to be a Rangers fan right now- they pour their heart into each game. Plus..5 walk off wins in a weeks time. Crazy, right? These guys are doing it and their doing it good I'd love to see my Rangers or even the Stros in the playoffs. I love both these teams and hope the good times roll.

  6. You know alot of the yankee and red sox fans take for granted the fact that they for the most part have always had a good team to cheer for, here in dallas baseball hasnt always been good. I am so happy that we finally have a team to cheer for in the Rangers. They go out every game and they just have fun, thats what baseball is all about. We all wish their pitching was better, but I dont think since Nolan Ryan we have had great pitching. The entire lineup makes baseball fun again, fun to go to the games and endure 100 + degree weather. Heck here lately I have been to games that are really hot(like last nite) and I have sat through the rain and lightening to see the Rangers. It's fun to have something to cheer about. Whether or not they make the post season, I am proud to be a Rangers fan. They are just fun to watch, the way they all wait at home plate for the player that just scored the winning home run is amazing. I have personally seen it twice (when Hamilton homered against the angels) and last nite. The best games I have been to by far

  7. Texas Cant do it like a lot of people say their pitching sucks. Plus the angels have the best record and overall team in baseball.

  8. I think after this Yankee series, we'll have a good idea of whether or not the Rangers can gain the WC spot.  A win tomorrow would ensure alot of Yankee whining tomorrow night though.

And I believe the Astro's have a good shot at the WC as well.  I mean, didn't they just beat the Cubs tonight?

  9. neither team has any chance, both have to climb up and over a lot of teams and that's just not going to happen, especially with the rangers' lack of pitching in a bandbox ballpark and the astros lack of hitting

  10. I think the Rangers have a shot in winning the divison but the astros are too many games back.

  11. i love the rangers and yes we can win the wild card.we're only 5-6 games being and judging by all of our game winning comebacks,we can make a wild card run.
