Go to some good categories, like Religion and Spirituality.  It's under "Society and Culture" - and help out.

Oh, and I'm sure your dad is still helping your mom - he doesn't want to have to pay extra money for oil changes, and he cares.

Halfway kidding :-)  Maybe he's paranoid WalMart is going to do something to her car (steal oil, I dunno) and wants to prove it

Maybe she was just driving there to shop and he wanted to make sure her car was in order or something.
