Question:

Those good old TMI questions...?

Yeah, another one of those....I guess the anonymity of yahoo answers just has such great appeal....:)

I gave birth to my daughter 13 days ago and started having some incredibly bad itching down yonder around 8 days or so...I knew it could be a yeast infection but my discharge was completely normal, nothing white or gross, no other symptoms beyond itching. It itched EVERYWHERE, too, not just the stitch site (I had like 4 stitches, small tear). Then, stupidly, yesterday I got a mirror and looked down there and OH MY GOSH, it is all so loose....I can see straight up my vag, I swear I can see my cervix....and I saw 1 stitch just hanging there like in the middle of the tear, and it almost looked to me like the stitches had come out and the tear was still open and there.....

All that to say, should I be worried? How loose is too loose for your downstairs to be the first few weeks? I have been doing kegels....should I be worried about the itching, or that it looks like the stitches came out before the tear could heal? ANY help would be awesome... I am seeing my midwife tomorrow, but I want answers now!

  1. Thank you for thoroughly scaring the living sh*t outta me. Can I request a cesarean, lol.....

  2. I had the same problem with the itching till I changed the brand of pad I used. With my first I had stitches because of a tear one of the stitches broke so the tear didn't heal together at the end  so it is possible.

  3. Sorry, but that's exactly why I didn't want to "see" that area for a while after I had my baby.
