  1. Gas means something different here. What U.S. Americans call gas (for cars) is called petrol here. The conversions the poster above is talking about run on LPG. This site explains LPG if you're curious:

    I have no idea what gas prices are. Mass transit is good enough here that I manage just fine without a car. It's even better in Europe.


  2. Gas is quite cheap at about 33p/l but petrol which is what we put in most of our cars is about £1.10/l and diesel for lorrys and some cars is about £1.15/l.

    Also there are very few filling stations selling gas maybe one in twenty has it so the gas powered vehicles and gas conversions are not yet very popular as you can not guarentee a supply unless you live near a source and don't go far from home.
