Those little white things that float in the air.where do they originate?

If you're referring to the cotton-like little poufy doodads, those are seeds off of the cotton plant. The cotton plant has a pod on it, and each pod is filled with seeds. Each seed has a soft white top, that catches wind and allows the seeds to germinate. In this way, cotton plants reproduce, and more can grow in spans of good distances away from the parent plant! =]

... They are quite pretty ^_^
