How many mgs were you on and what day did you ovulate on?

I am on my first round of Clomid at 50mgs. I am taking it CD4-8. I usually ovulate on my own, but my doc wants to give me a boost. We have been TTC for a year. No other problems.

  1. 100mg - dont ovulate on my own (have pcos)

from my day 21 test i think i ovulated on either 13 or 14 last month

as you dont have pcos, (don't for work MOST  pcos women - myself included) use those ovulation predictor kits, they can be really useful as you can make sure you do it on the right days x*x

i think people normally do it every other day from days 10 - 20

but we did bms on days 10, 11, missed 12, then did it again on days 13 and 14 then missed 15 did it on 15 missed 16 then gotta do it again tomorrow! day 17 lol

    goodluck xx

don't know if it's worked yet though lol, if not i'll be on my 3rd round next month

  2. I was on 50mg CD 5-9.  Ovulation usually occurred on CD 17.  I too had no problem ovulation.  Unexplained infertility.  Talk about frustrating!!! We conceived the second month.  Unfortunately, ended in miscarriage.  Currently waiting for one normal cycle.  Then back on clomid.  Never in my life have I wished she would rear her ugly little head!!!  Lots of luck to you!

  3. I took 50 mg on days 3 to 7 as i dont ovulate on my own at all, or at least not very often.  My cycles were different every month but but between 28 and 30 days.  I am not sure exactly what day that I ovulated on for the first 4 rounds of my cycle but it shows on the 21 day progesterone test that I did so I would imagine round abouts day 14.  On the last cycle that I had I used clearblue ovulation predictors and got the smiley face on day 13 meaning I ovulated on day 15 and my period was due on day 29.  This was the cycle that I got pregnant on and I am now 28 weeks along.  My advice to you would be to expect a 28 day cycle and start using opk's to try and find your lh surge.  This will increase your chances a huge amount as you will be trying on your most fertile days.

I wish you luck and pray that you experience the same joy as me with this wonder drug.

P.S any questions that you have I would be delighted to help cause I know how it feels when you seem to be going through all this treatment on your own!!!!!

  4. good luck! my sis in law took that for i think 6 months and nothing happened but three months later after stopping the meds and 2yrs of trying she finally conceived!!

  5. I took 3 cycles of Clomid and charted my BBT and this is what happened

Cycle 1- 50mg days 5-9 no ovulation and a 30 day cycle my chart was all over the place.

Cycle 2- 50mg days 5-9 ovulated cd 19 and had a 39 day cycle, my chart looked ideal for pregnancy (18 days of really elevated temps).

Cycle 3- 100mg days 5-9 ovulated cd 20 and had a 36 day cycle, my chart looked good this time too.

My ob/gyn wanted me to try 3 more cycles but I couldn't take the stress and the side effects while on it.  My body felt completely strange.  Plus that 2nd cycle had me convinced I was pregnant only for it not to be. So my 3rd cycle I just went through the movements and was still dwelling on what went wrong the previous cycle.  I just gave up on it.  Kind of wish I would have stuck it out to see before moving on to our RE.  However he feels Clomid wouldn't have been that beneficial to me.

I am so hoping and praying it works for you first time!!!!

  6. I do ovulate on my own.

I took 100mg cycle days 4-8.  I also took a shot of ovidrel on day 11.  I ovulated on day 12 (like I normally do).

I was very fortunate that I did this with a reproductive endocrinologist.  I had blood work and ultrasounds a couple of times a week.  Clomid was not for me.  It thinned my lining and caused me to get a cyst.  While taking it, it was impossible for me to get pregnant due to the side effects I had.  So needless to say, I will never take it again.  Had I not been monitored so closely we would have no idea about what the clomid was actually doing to me.

  7. 150 mg CD 5-9- no ovulation

200 mg CD 5-9- ovulated around CD 20, no pregnancy

250 mg CD 3-7- ovulated around CD 19, had IUI on CD 18, no pregnancy

I was monitored via ultrasound, so I know that I did ovulate. The last round I had two good follicles that both released.
