Those who are getting most affected by the cancellation of NHL regular season
It has been learnt that first two weeks of the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) are going to be cancelled and it is going to be a huge set back for a lot of people. At first, the pre-season games were cancelled because of the lockout but
cancellation of regular season games will cost a lot of people a lot.
It looks as if it is also going to be lockout for one whole season as many players have already left America and moving towards European leagues to play hockey for their home countries’ native leagues. Since the lockout announcement, which was made last
month on the 16th of September, more than 100 players have signed for different leagues in the world and that shows that lockout is not going to end soon.
Players will be suffering a lot and losing a lot of money as they will have to settle with less money in the minor leagues and those who are playing in Europe also would not be getting as much as the money they were getting in the NHL. There are also players
who have not signed anywhere, hoping that NHL lockout will end soon and such players will have no earnings for next two weeks, resulting in 100% loss.
Some players who had not signed for the European leagues and hesitant about leaving their place, will now consider moving as soon as possible so that they can join European teams and get in action once again. They would surely be afraid of losing their form
and touch while staying at home during the lockout.
NHL Players Association (NHLPA) surely suffered a huge blow when the NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced cancellation of two weeks but they would have that thing in mind that they had come back and comprised with the situation when there was a lockout
last time, and if they did the same this time, it would give NHL officials a feeling that NHLPA is weak.
Team owners are also going to suffer as it is learnt that Philadelphia Flyers are going to lose $6 million during these two weeks.
