Though I am a member of a group, I cannot send messages because they are suddenly not in plain text. Why?

I send a message and I get an answer "You can only send plain text messages to this group. HTML or

other formats are not allowed."

How do I fix this? I probably did sth by mistake.

  2. Some e-mail programs automatically encode all outgoing messages in HTML to make these messages look nicer to other e-mail programs that understand HTML.  Unfortunately, this adds a bunch of codes to a message that can make the original text hard to pick out if the recipient's e-mail program doesn't understand HTML encoding.  And some Yahoo Groups are set to not allow HTML-encoded messages, prob. for this very reason.

You have a couple options.  If you know how to change your e-mail program's settings, you might be able to turn off the automatic HTML encoding.  How to do this depends on which e-mail program you are using to send the message to the Group.  Or you can post your messages from the Group's web site, which (unless you use the Rich-Text Editor) never does this HTML encoding.
