  1. because they have a preassurized cabin and passenger area thet they fill with air

  2. I read in a book that the cabins are pressurized.

  3. though aeroplanes fly in stratosphere region but people inside do not face breathing problem

    because :

People in the aeroplane are in such a cabin

which is air tight and equipped with air pressuree controllers .

which maintains the air pressur within the cabin

so in generally people inside the cabin do not face breathing problem

but some time by some unfortunate reason

the pressure within the cabin became unstable

then the passenger have to use air musk to breadth.

  4. The passenger cabin is sealed airtight, and pressurized to maintain atmospheric pressure so that it is equal to the pressure below 10,000 feet.  This is all common knowledge.

Try an internet search on "aviation" and one on "airliners."

  5. First of all pressurized cabins are the overall answer, however the cabins are not airtight and they cannot be so. Air from the low stage compressor of the engine is regulated, cooled and pumped into the cabin replacing the existing air. If the aircraft was airtight it would pop as a balloon. So to sum it up, thin (less dense) air  from outside the aircraft (at altitude) is taken in compressed and pumped in the aircraft to maintain a cabin altitude of approx 10,000 ft. Hope this helps.

  6. I think what everyone is trying to say is that there is oxygen up there, but human lungs can't react to it unless the air is pressurized. The density just isn't there.

  7. Aircraft that fly higher than 16,000 ft typicallly have pressurised passenger cabins so people can breathe normally.   The ones that don't would have oxygen masks for everyone inside.

  8. The cabins are pressurized so that they are habitable by humans (in much the same way that space shuttles protect astronauts), and of course oxygen must be circulated throughout the passenger areas.

  9. pressurized cabin to below 10,000 feet

  10. Aircraft cabins are not air tight - they leak big time!! Technology to seal the cabin air tight exists but would increase the cost of the air craft.  Instead, pressure in the cabin is regulated to 10,000 FT using bleed air from the engines and a cabin dump valve.

  11. I believe the stratosphere starts around  18km(11.1846815 miles miles,or 59, 055.1183 feet feet) an go upwards to to 50km(31.0685596 miles,or 164 041.995 feetfeet)

the B777 is certified to Max. cruising altitude:13,100 m (8.13996262 miles or 42, 979.0026 feet)

me thinks any thing flying in the stratosphere will be sealed and all occupants will be on oxygen wearing a pressure suit.

  12. Because the cabin is pressurized so that there will be enough oxygen. If there is a loss of cabin pressure an oxygen mask will appear from the panel above you and you will breathe through that until the plane is at 10,000 feet.

  13. Yes, the Cabin is pressurized. That is only why you face no problem.

For Student Pilots it is required by FAA and DCGA to wear O2 masks above 11,999 feet IF the Cockpit or cabin is not pressurized!

  14. The cabins in the aeroplanes are maintained with certain pressures so that the passengers in the plane experience the similar kind of breathing as that we do regularly.

  15. BECAUSE THEY ARE CALCULATED ALL OF THE REQUIEREMENTS FOR ITS USE.

  16. It's called aircraft pressurization

Even when the aircraft is in it's maximum altitude say 41000feet the cabin altitude is pegged at 10000 and pressure around 8psi.

for passenger comfort and aircraft structure because cabin at 8psi while outside is perhaps less than 6psi.

Remember as we go higher air density becomes lesser.
