  1. That's my main symptom of anxiety/panic- I go numb. It's usually in my extremities or my mid section. The reason is that your body gets that fight or flight response. The blood rushes to the extremities in case it has to make a quick getaway. That leaves you feeling numb where the blood rushed away. I am on celexa for my anxiety and it is still bad. It got worse after giving birth. I still have a hard time believing anxiety causes these symptoms, but the doctors haven't found anything else wrong with me. An allergy wouldn't make you feel numb, it really sounds like anxiety. Try not drinking coffee or drinking decaf. Caffeine was worsen panic attacks. I once had a panic attack and called 911. I was completely numb and my body felt ice cold. The police arrived and said to his partner "This doesn't look good." My heart rate was around 160. When the paramedics came, they immediately knew it was a panic attack. They took me to the ER and sent me right home. It was absolutely terrifying and embarrassing. I've heard that this happens all the time. Your mind is VERY powerful. Good luck with your test results!

  2. Here's a technique that I learnt to help me get through my panic attacks quickly...

I simply repeat the words 'cream cake' over and over in my head as quickly as I can without stopping.    You could use any word or words you like really but that's what I chose (because I like cream cakes).  It apparently works because it doesn't give your brain time to process the panicky thoughts and so helps you to relax again.  Seems strange I know ... but it works for me!

There's also a free ebook that I found really useful called 'Get Rid of Panic and Anxiety for Good'. If you want to take a look you can find it at: http://curepanicattacks.premiergold.info...    Even though I got it for free it has helped me absolutely loads!
