  1. Venus is the Greek Goddess of beauty and love ( Romans borrowed it from the Greeks ) So you need two more cause Venus and Aphrodite is same Goddess .

So I woild suggest Athena the Goddess of wisedom and Artemis the Goddess of hunting and more than that

  2. all godessess r equal u cant quantify anyone.

  3. Go for Athena (Goddess of Wisdom), Aphrodite (Goddess of Beauty) and Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt).

Or since some people may not recognize Greek Goddesses' various symbols -- why not have someone go as Cleopatra?  The famous Egyptian Queen would be quite recognizable.  Or Anne Bonny (A Pirate Queen)??

Have fun at your Halloween party..........

  4. How about Demeter or Persphone?

  5. Venus and Aphrodite are the same. Why not try finding Goddesses with different functions.

Venus/Aphrodite is associated with the Sea, Love and beauty.

Demeter/Ceres is a Goddess of the Land and Fertility

Flora is a Goddess of the Flowers and Woodland

Selene/Diana  ia a Lunar Goddess and Hunting guide

Hecate is a Goddess of the Underworld and the Occult

You can incorporate their different themes is the colours you choose and the symbols you adorn yourself with.

Venus/Aphrodite.. Shells or things of water..White, pale greens/blues.

Demeter... Corn or other fertility symbols. The Sun, Yellow & Gold

Flora.. Flowers, leaves, etc. Greens, Oranges,Reds.. floral colours.

Selene...Crescent Moons, a bow. Silver or Cream

Hecate.. Occult or magical symbols Purple, Magenta, Black

    Enjoy yourselves

  6. Hera was Zeus's wife and also the goddess of marriage and the family. You could wear a crown and carry a doll or go pregnant, wear a wedding ring, etc.  It might be fun to be someone not so easily identified as a conversation starter.

  7. Venus and Aphrodite are the same person, Do that Pallas Athena, and Hera (Juno)

  8. My favorite is Artemis, goddess of the Hunt, virginity and the moon. So bring some bow, quiver and arrows. Here's a pic so that you'll get an idea. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...

Also maybe Athena, a helmet, a shield, and a Greek- inspired dress would do the trick.

Note: Athena is the goddess of wisdom and rational war, not the Hunt

Although not popular and technically not a goddess, Themis might also be good, she's the personification of justice and is depicted as a woman blindfolded (thats where the line Justice is blind came from) and holding a pair of scales and a sword.

  9. i thought Venus and Aphrodite were the same but anywho Artemis (goddess of wilderness) is cool but she might not be known to most people...then there is Athena prbably one of the most famous

  10. You guys should go as The Charites(the Graces) the 3 Goddesses of Beauty. They were named:

    Aglaia ~ Splendor

    Euphrosyne ~ Mirth

    Thalia ~ Cheer

They were the first ones to welcome Aphrodite when she was blown to shore by the East Wind and they rode in a chariot pulled by white geese.

In the 1800s the 3 cousins Marie Euphrosyne Spartali, Maria Cassavetti Zambaco and Aglaia Ionides Coronio who came from prominate Greek families in Britain were noted for their beauty and known collectively by their friends as the "Three Graces" based upon these Greek Goddesses. Famous painter Edward Burne-Jones used them as his models for his painting "The Mill".

Or the 3 Horae, beautiful Goddesses of Justice. They were:

    Eunomia ~ Custom

Diki (pronounced as 'vicki' only replace the 'v' with a 'd') ~ Justice

    Eirene ~ Peace

If not some ideas for a 3rd goddess, not going to mention the usual suspects since many already mentioned them:

Eurynome ~ the Goddess of All Things

Hebe  ~ the Goddess of Youth daughter of Gods Hera and Zeus. She married the hero Heracles when the Gods made him into a God with whom she had twin gods Alexiares and Anicetus and along with their father were the guardians of Mount Olympus.

Iris ~ the Goddess of Messenger, sister of the winged monsters, the Harpies, Iris was represented as a beautiful maiden, with wings and robes of bright colors trailing across the sky with the rainbow, she was also called the Goddess of Rainbow. Her name translates in English to the name "Helene".

Metis  ~ Goddess of Prudence and a Titaness, she was  the first great spouse of Zeus and the mother of Athena. Her name means Cunning.

Nemesis ~ Goddess of Righteous Anger she was the right hand of Zeus and it was she who saw to it that all good and evil were justly paid.

    Nike ~  Goddess of Victory

Otrera ~ a War Goddess she was the mother of the Amazons and daughter of War God Ares

Pandia ~ Goddess of  Brightness her name means  "All Bright", she was a Goddess of the Sun and the full Moon. She and her sisters were the daughters of Zeus and Selene.

Persephone ~  Goddess of Spring & Queen of the Underworld, she along with Aphrodite and Helen were the most beautiful in Greek mythology. Daughter of Demeter she is kidnapped by Hades into the Underworld. She  is the mythic center of the Eleusian Mysteries, the most widespread of the mystery religions of the ancient Greek world.

Rhea ~ a Titaness Goddess she was "the mother of gods."  Rhea is usually depicted seated in a throne flanked by lions and rode in a chariot drawn by two lions.

Thalassa ~ Goddess of the Sea and Shores.

Theia ~ Goddess of Light, Sky  & Illumination, she was associated with the sky, planetary powers of the Sun and the first day of the week. She was the mother of Helios(Sun), Selene (Moon), and Eos(Dawn). The name Theia means Divine, and she was also referred to as "Euryphaessa" which means "Wide Shining".

Themis ~ Goddess of Divine Justice and Law she was one of the original Titans, she was the constant companion of the god Zeus and sat beside him on Olympus. Her name means "Order".  She was the mother of the Seasons and the three Charites(the Graces) from above with Zeus.

Thelxinoe ~  Goddess of Delight  and daughter of Zeus. Her name means "Mind Charming".

  11. yes athena is ok

try being gaia (the earth goddess)

  12. What about Freya?  She's the Norse Goddess of love and beauty.

  13. Venus was the Roman version of Aphrodite, so it might be hard to make those 2 different.  Athena often wore a helmet -- Greek style, with a horse-tail crest on top.  Look in Wikipedia for images.  Artemis, as the other person wrote, usually carried bow and arrows, hunting under the moon.  Gaia, the earth would be hard to show characteristics of.  Persephone had two sides.  Half the year she lived with her mother (Demeter, goddess of grain, so you could carry grass that's gone to seed), while the other half she lived down in Hades - you could be very dramatic and paint half your face white.  Or just carry a pomegranate, which she ate 3 seeds out of, which is why she had to spend time every year in Hades.

  14. athena goddess of the hunt.

    (greek)
