Thought-provoking questions on Fahrenheit 451?

Okay, well I read the book and I did all of the work except for this...

I can't think of anything!

I have to write 3 thought-provoking questions I would like the class to discuss in relation to the novel.

We will use them in a seminar the first week of class.

...And school starts monday!

The only things I could come up with were things like:

1) If there are so many people with books in their head, why don't they come together to form a new society?

2) How did the government start controlling them in the first place?

But.. as you can see, these aren't very thought-provoking for a class to discuss...haha

Can you help me out?

TIA(:

  1. Does the bomb at the end of the book signify that all "perfect" society are meant to be doom?

Could creativity and imagination be what caused this future society to restrict books?

The only thing that truly survive and explain history is books. How could a society survive without knowing about its past?

  2. some suggestions...

    1. why do you think the government would want to keep books away from the people?

    2. what would you have done if you lived in this type of society? do you think you would fight to bring books back or submit to the government?

    3. can you find modern day examples of governments displaying these types of rules? For instance, in China the government blocks many websites.
