So, i'm really interested in history/artifacts. And I either want to be an archeologist, or one of those people who preserves artifacts after they're found. So, I need someone to tell me what those people are called, and if there are any good colleges in California that I could attend to major in it. Thanks =)

  1. archaeologists

  2. not sure

  3. Archaeology is considered one of 4 feilds in Anthropology (the study of humans). So you would want to be an Anthro major but you wont just be studying Archy...

    1. Cultural Anthro

    2. Biological/ Physical Anthro

    3. Linguistic Anthro

    4. Archaeology

I was an Anthro major my first year in college (just this past year) at UCR I enjoyed Bio Anthro and Archaeology...My Archy professor mentioned to the class that Anthropology is often over looked as a major so there are not too many schools out there...he did mention other UC's as well and two out of state schools (cant remember) that are very well known for Anthro. I suggest starting at a college and taking a couple Anthro classes...if you are still interested in the subject then persue it :) I only changed my major because Archaeology Class rekindled my interest in Geology (a feild I have always liked).

The Archaeological Code is to preserve sites and artifacts...so all you would have to do is be and Archy and then maybe start work with a museum and learn how to get into specifically preserving or restoring artifacts
