I ADORE the Twilight Saga. I've read each one a million times. But I REALLY dislike this book! I was so dissapointed to see the series end so.... strangely. Thoughts?

  1. i think that stephenie meyer has concluded the series the way it was supposed to be.  she let the characters make their own choices.  I thought that it was the absolute correct ending. bella and edward are meant to be together forever had the book/series ended any differently they wouldn't be together...they'd probably be dead.

edward was born in the early nineteen hundreds, his world is very different, and the end played right into his world, not modern day, 1900's.

i love these characters and i think stephenie meyer did a good job, especially considering that she wrote this book for herself and no one else.

  2. i completely agree...i finished BD the day that i came home with it. maybe i just read too quickly, and need to get used to it but...

it didn't seem like a teen book. it was WAY too adult-ish. her writing style was COMPLETELY different, and i didn't like it at all. she seemed to go on and on about pointless details in jacob's life instead of talking about what was going on with bella... which i also hated. it kind of made me want to gag, really - yeah, im probably evil... But now there will be someone that she loves more than edward, which wouldnt be a problem but... thats not what the series was about! it was just supposed to be her and edward!

in short, i was VERY dissapointed. it was WAY too weird for me. the first three books were written so beautifully and in a way that the supernatural elements blended with the natural ones. this one is just like... i dunno, different. it seemed like hardcore SF, even though it wasn't, and it was never meant to be.

i wouldn't have minded seeing more of her old, human life either.

Solution: I'm going to pretend I never read it. (yeah, let's see how long that one works)
