Thoughts on Breaking Dawn?

I just want to know your thoughts on Breaking Dawn. I myself was extremely disappointed with the ending of the Twilight saga. Am I alone on this or does anyone else feel the same way I do?

  1. The thing about this question is that it's all a matter of opinion.  I enjoyed it.  It was different than I expected, but I'm glad.  The major things I was hoping to happen, did.  And then some.  She did a great job throwing in twists.  I felt the first three were pretty predictable.  Breaking Dawn had a different feel to it, but I LOVED Bella as a vampire and the fact that we got to see how it really was from that perspective!  I think there are too many people listening to other's opinions instead of giving it a fair chance and judging for themselves.  (not directed towards you at all)  I don't see what all the fuss is about, honestly.  I thought it was good!

  2. Well it was ok until the until Alice came back with the 2 witnesses, I wish that Alice would have never left and that they had a fight with the volturi and some of the vampires and cullens died and the entire volturi force was killed, the ending line completely sucked because it just seemed like a complete cop-out, I mean you do 754 pages and then you couldn't spare another 20 pages to wrap it up, I mean if they had been at the gates of Dartmouth or something, and then they said something a bit better, that would have been much better, I thought she screwed the entire book up with the last 70 or so pages(When the Volturi Arrive)

If anyone saw Avatar: Sozen's Comet, the ending of Avatar ruined the entire 2 hours of the movie in that 1 second, just like in Breaking Dawn when they didn't fight the Volturi...

  3. I probably wouldn't have chosen it to end the way it did, but I'm not exactly upset with it. After all, it wrapped up the saga pretty well in my opinion, and showed me just a little more of the characters I know and love. Parts of it seemed a bit more like a cute, fairy-tale kind of story, but when I think about it, I'm glad to know that there is a "happily ever after". So, I'm just a little unsatisfied with it, but personally I'm willing to accept or overlook the things I don't like and just enjoy Breaking Dawn for what it is.

  4. Horrible series.

Last one was most definately the worst.

4 books about a toxic relationship.

    Lovely.

  5. It was...okay. Not the best. I would've liked a different ending.

  6. I hate it, and I wasn't even a fan of the series... The birth scene is gross and it's like the "Alien" movie... But heey! don't be sad you always can be in the Dark Side of fandom Mwajajaja!...

  7. Nope. I loved it. Except I would have made them fight and defeat the Volturi.

  8. It was OK!

I've sort of fallen out of love with Twilight, if you know what I mean.

I mean, I finally looked at Bella and Edward and I was like...

    wow!

and not in a good way

  9. I thought breaking dawn was a huge dissapointment as well.. No one died and there was no battle? The climax completely blew! And it was all just like some corny fan fiction

    I LOVE the other three!

  10. I loved how the book ended, think about it, after everything Bella and Edward went through just because they love each other so much that they didn't deserve a happy ending.  The only thing I that I'm disappointed about is that the series ended.  I want to know what will happen with the others and how Renesmee will turn out.

  11. Why don't you try using the search bar--it is there for a reason.  This question has been asked 8394 times already.

  12. After all the anticipation i was also disappointed and i think quite a few people are. I still enjoyed it but i thought the ending would be better but instead it was rather predictable and she might as well have wrote 'bella woke up and it was all a dream'. I thought there was so many unanswered questions and i just think it could have been so much better.

  13. YES!

I loved Twilight and New Moon. Eclipse was so-so. But Breaking Dawn turned me off to the series entirely. I'm not going to see the movie. I'm done. It was so disgusting and... blah. I've ranted and raved about it. I'm kind of purged now. I was so heartbroken that the series I adored ended so wretchedly. You're definitely not alone. If you look at Y!A in the week after the book's release we were all absolutely rabid.

  14. I felt good about the ending.  Your not along though.  I thought it ended well i didn't want some dramatic horrible ending with the dying or anything.

  15. I am disappointed too,

To me the characters seem to have changed a lot.

Bella is um... too hard headed?

Jacob, well actually, he's quite funny now.

Edward seems too.. um. sensitive. I liked it better when he was a little more, rough.

I didn't like how Jacob imprinted on their baby. That's a little ... much. On the end though I felt a little better knowing she will stay a young adult. But it still bothered me.

Plus the whole way how Bella found out she's pregnant is a little weird.

She seems like a s*x addict to me.. :S Stephenie insited that her readers are too young for a whole detailed scene, but they do have it a lot. It confuses me.

The ending to me is... okay... but the story could have been better.
