Question:

Thoughts on Lush?

Have you ever ordered or bought any Lush products and what are your thoughts on those products? Any recommendations or warnings of certain products?

I've tried: Karma Komba Shampoo, Karma Solid Perfume, Avobath, Figs and Leaves, Honey I Washed the Kids, Go Green Bodyspray, Sugar Rush, Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds, Coalface, and Extra Virgin Olive.

I know this isn't a Food question, but since everything they make is vegetarian and 75% of their products are vegan, I assumed this would be a proper place for it.

  1. I have never tried a Lush product that I didn't LOVE. I'm not too fond of their shipping charges though, the expense makes ordering very infrequent for me. Unfortunately, my city isn't large enough to attract a Lush store. If we had one I'd be happy!

  2. LUSH is the best!!

You seem to like all the same stuff i do and agree with you about herbalism;-)You should DEF get "flying fox"- smells like nothing else and once you get used to it it's very hard to go back to anything else. You should also try "skinny dip", I'm desperately hoping they bring it back in reg shower gel form but it's still great!

  3. Their cinnamon solid shampoo is amazing if you have problems with stress-related hair loss or if you have thin hair.

Some of the hair conditioners are also great.

I also love the smell of the shower jellies (my favorite is the mint and lemon one), but they are kind of tricky to use. If you buy it, make sure to have a sponge or bath cloth to use it with.

  4. I liked their solid shampoos and conditioners. (The Karma Komba and Jungle were my favorites.) Also the henna they sell for coloring hair works fantastic.

  5. I liked Lush products better when they were in liquid form in bottles, rather than in bar form. There wasn't so much wasted then. and Blue Skies was really good.

    They're still good though.

  6. I really like the Big shampoo with Veganese conditioner. The combination makes my hair so shiny and soft, and they're better than any other non-animal tested hair care products I've tried. Lush's solid shampoo bars made my hair staticky and dull so I avoid them. Other products I like are the Big Blue bath bomb and the Each Peach massage bar.

I've only been to Lush a few times but so far they seem to have a lot of good stuff.

EDIT: Oh, it's probably just my water then. Thanks for the advice.

  7. Hi,

I have used the shampoo called 'Daddy O' and the conditioner called 'Veganese'. Both are vegan products, and they work really well for my hair type. They really bring out the colour. Highly recommended!Lush products are good because they Lush are against animal testing. You should try 'Flying Fox'- it's definately one for the girls. My female Uni friends love it! Herbalism is a good cleanser. I use one called 'Angels on Bare Skin'. Strange name, but it's great.

They have a good eye cream too called 'Enchanted Eye cream'. It's good for days when you want to look a bit more awake. I use 'Celestial' moisturiser- it's really good, it smells like vanilla ice cream, it's vegan friendly, natural & effective. What more could you want? Shopping at Lush is pretty much guilt free. Most of their products are vegan, and certified by The Vegan Society. The Body Shop's products are not tested on animals, however, LOreal, their new owner DOES. So my warning is this- buying products at the Body Shop is indirectly  supporting animal cruelty.

    :D

[Edit] Everyone's different. lol. Try Flying Fox. I think you'll like it. It's got honey in it though, so it's not vegan. I heard that Lush are removing Palm Oil from their products, to help reduce the damage to the rainforests.
