  1. I think it accomplishes what it was intented to do.  Make people question their Religion, their Political Leaders and everything else in their lives.

    I liked it.

  2. It has a lot of useful information and is a good starting point for anyone who has the stomach to consider that their life isn't actually their own and that we are, as we always have been, being constantly manipulated by a handful of people who cling to their power by controlling everything we think we know.

I have found a few references which don't add up in it, but then it is a commercial production and as such has, however good its intentions, its own agenda.

I have however found the majority of it plausible and informative and often refer it to friends (none of whom wear tin hats or drink kool aid) who have found it an eye opening, if not life changing film.

But, as I have said to them, find your own references and search for the truth yourself. However plausible anything is, it is everyones duty to themselves and certainly their children to question everything they are handed as as fact and research it until they are certain of its veracity.

Not simply convinced by its glamorous facade.

  3. I thought it was a pretty insightful odyssey into the world of deceit in religion and government.

  4. I consider Zeitgiest to be an intellectually dishonest film, not because of the filmmakers personal bias, but because of its disregard for the truth. There is so much questionable statements that can easily be refuted, or controversial points that have legitimate opposing views that should have been presented.

    - Regarding part 1: Jesus

The "Mythology of Jesus" theory was an obscure and generally dismissed theory.

It has gained exposure due to author "Acharya S" and her collaboration with the Zeitgeist filmmaker. (She is also author of the films companion guide)

    Some other views:

" The idea of Jesus as a myth is rejected by the majority of biblical scholars and historians. In 2004, Richard Burridge and Graham Gould stated that they did not know of any "respectable" scholars that held the view today. Robert E. Van Voorst has stated that biblical scholars and historians regard the thesis as "effectively refuted"."

    - Regarding Part II: 9/11

It should be noted upfront that being skeptical of the 'official version' of anything presented by the government or media, is a good thing for society. And it should also be noted that questioners of 9/11 'offical versions' range from genuine intellectual pursuits of greater truths, to bizarre interpretations specifically intended to support a unwavering point of view.

The Zeitgeist filmmaker is part of that spectrum that has bought into the theory that the government orchestrated the whole thing. Unfortunately the evidence they selected and presented was sloppy and much of it easily disproved, even by members of the Truth movement. (I've heard some speculate this may have been a red-herring to discredit the 'truth' movement).

    - Regarding Part III: Men behind the curtain

As a liberatarian, I found this part to have had the most potential in exposing abuses of government and men in power. Instead, it trots out tired long disproven conspiracy theorioes

"Income Tax law Doesn't exist" theory - Very stale. Consistently disproven over-and-over again. No new information, just new victims going to jail that fall for these arguments. Very sad.

"Federal Reserve System is owned by international bankers" - Still a common conspiracy theory. Still wrong. The Federal Reserve System is headed by the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors is a Government Agency (look it up). The Federal Reserve branches can definitely be considered tightly regulated corporations owned by their member banks, all of which must be American-owned by law. It is receives regular audits, and is overseen by congress.

"There is no shortage of information which refutes this viewpoint. But this type of conspiracy relies on two elements common to web surfers: First, they're only willing to check facts at the most superficial level, which usually means they'll read a message or watch a clip just once before forming an opinion and moving on. 5. I agree with the above answer.

    I like it too.

  6. What matters is not what I think; what matters is what you think. Your asking the question shows you are thinking, and have not fallen prey to group-think mentality.

Zeitgeist is an entertainment film, designed to wake people up. It does contain some errors and because of that, people often mistakenly dismiss the entire film. It is a movie, not a documentary. It is silly how so very many people go to such great lengths to "debunk" a movie. If it is all "conspiracy theory" as some claim, why not just ignore it? People take the mistakes in Zeitgeist far too seriously. Can you think of any other movie to be subjected to such a high degree of scrutiny for its factual correctness?

The producer seems to assert that Christianity is merely an agent of social control. I do not share that view, but do respect the producer's right to express that view. There are many web sites that debunk Part One. Do a Google search for "Zeitgeist Christianity debunk" to find them.

The message of part 1 is that there are people in positions of power and influence that are lying and attempting to control you. What's new about that, lol? It was not necessary to attack Christianity to make that point (thereby insulting the majority of the people of the free world). One need not look further than the corporate-controlled main stream media to find an agent of social control. If any of the topics in Zeitgeist Parts Two and Three are new to you, the reason for that is mass media censorship and brainwashing. The main stream media is not what it used to be, and not what many people believe it to be. It has become a propaganda machine for government and corporate interests. I cannot cover that topic in depth here because of the character limit, so will link a media question I answered recently:-

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

As most people are unaware of the true nature of the 21st Century main stream media and the extent to which it applies brainwashing and mind control techniques, I believe it fair to state that it is a very effective agent of social control in year 2008.

Because of Zeitgeist producer's choice to use Christianity for the Part One presentation, I believe the movie may be a trojan horse. I talked about that in my answer to this question:-

Re Parts Two and Three:  9/11 and New World Order (global government) are connected although I'm not sure whether Zeitgeist gets that point across effectively. If I were the producer and if I wanted to inform, I would have placed greater emphasis on informing viewers about the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission and how those globalist organizations effectively control foreign policy. This page is a good start:-

    http://faculty.maxwell.syr.edu/merupert/...

Read from the CFR's own web site, and their publications, and connect the dots. It won't take long to see that CFR stands for global government. As the globalists get closer to their one-world government objective, they become more open about it. You will also find reading at that site about their agenda for North American Union (part of the global government agenda).

    http://www.cfr.org/

For a very well-written brief overview of CFR, see the answer of Iraqisax to this very recent question

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

To get a sense of the true nature of the people behind the CFR, research globalist David Rockefeller (Honorary Chairman of the CFR and co-founder of the Trilateral Commission). New World Order is not about some cabal of Satanists plotting to take over the world. It is about elite corporate interests pressing for one-world socialist government serving the interests of elites and corporations. They are well on their way to achieving that goal. The main stream media mentions very little about this because the media is owned and controlled by CFR members and people & corporations that profit from globalization, war, and the war on terror.

There are so many theories about new world order that people are overlooking what is happening today, right now, before their very eyes. That is gradual implementation of global government and the dismantling of national sovereignty. That is what Zeitgeist purports to warn you of but in the process of enhancing the film's entertainment value, I'm not sure that message comes through as urgently as it should. Because of the limit on number of characters here, I cannot expand on this further. See my answers to this question:

On to 9/11:  9/11 was either a false flag, or it was exploited like a false flag. If we are to believe the government's official excuse that the air defense and intelligence failures were honest mistakes, then why were people at the top not held accountable for those mistakes? If the government was a corporation, heads would have rolled and there would have been mass-firings, including the CEO. That did not happen after 9/11. Rather, some of the people responsible for "mistakes" were promoted. The first order of business should have been addressing the reason for the failures and firing many people. Instead, the government chose to start the gradual and on-going undermining of the Constitution and creation of a surveillance state in America.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are major impediments to the new world order / global government agenda. An excuse was needed to begin the dismantling process thereof, and 9/11 provided the perfect excuse. How handy was it that a single event also served (indirectly) to induce us to accept illegal war?

There is a great deal of compelling evidence for government foreknowledge and complicity in 9/11. Keep in mind that if the government was involved, it was not "the government". Rather, it was criminal elements inside the government and their associates outside the government. Most members of the government were honestly deceived. The corporate main stream media (see my linked question above) protects the criminals by muzzling the 9/11 story and painting anyone questioning it as a radical moron so as to divide the people and discourage any challenge to the official account of 9/11.

9/11 kicked the new world order agenda into high gear. For that reason, I believe it much more fruitful to focus 9/11 learning on "why" and "who benefited" rather than the "how was it done" theories. We may never know how it was done because much of the evidence was destroyed; however, a clear picture is now emerging as to who benefits and why it was exploited. To inspire some thought in that direction, research the neo-conservative think tank known as "Project for a New American Century" (in my sarcastic words called "Cheney & Co.") and its members' links to and positions in the Bush Administration. Read about their "manifesto" describing their geopolitical aspirations. It seems eerily familiar to what we see happening now.

For greater insight into 9/11, it is important to learn about the flaws of the 9/11 Commission and its investigation. See Ray Griffin's film, "9/11 The Myth and the Reality"

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...

The Families of victims of 9/11 documented their frustrations with and disappointment in the 9/11 Commission in their film, "Press for Truth"

    http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=pr...

I have an opinion about the Zeitgeist's take on the Federal Reserve and I keep that opinion to myself because, quite frankly, I wish to stay alive.

If you follow up with your own research, be careful what you read.  There are staged government disinformation sites all over the web, designed to throw you off and to discredit the truth movement by putting forth ridiculous theories that are easily debunked (e.g. the "no planes theory" for 9/11). There are paid government disinformation agents all over the internet, posing as regular users in forums such as this one. Generally, if the people presenting a web site are not willing to be named (and you cannot verify that they are real people), I would recommend confirming what you read there from sites where owners do disclose who they are. Some of my Yahoo Contacts had a discussion about that recently when one of them noticed what appears to be a 9/11 disinformation site. See:-

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

For further self-research, first learn about the CFR and its agenda for global government, and study PNAC.  Then research 9/11. A good site for 9/11 research is this well-sourced site:-

Until people wake up and realize that both political parties have been hijacked by criminals and elite corporate interests, nothing will change for the better.

Arab terrorism is real, and the terrorists hate us. They hate us because of our foreign policy, not because we are free and prosperous. Our chances of being injured from Arab terrorism are about the same as being struck by lightning. That holds true despite the inadequate port and border security. If Arab terrorists want to launch a large-scale attack our homeland, there is nothing to stop them, and that has been the case since 2001 yet there have not been any such attacks since then. Why then does the dismantling of civil libertie
