Question:

Thoughts on gas prices (in California)?

Hey guys,

I just want to express my thoughts and opinions on the gas prices now that we’ve already approached the mark over $100 a barrel. As you all know, we have had a record high of around $110 a barrel of crude oil. If this roller-coaster ride keeps up, we’re not going to have enough money for other useful stuff such as food and house payments (mortage crisis is another story).

I’m really getting SICK AND TIRED of all this c**p with the gas prices; just as it was bad enough that we were up at $3.00 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline about a couple of months back after Christmas break. Where are all the gas taxes going? More on the things with Iraq? Come on now.....give me a break; as a matter of fact, give US a break.

I don’t know about you guys, but I drive an 07 Honda Civic which gets 35 mpg average, and I cannot afford to pay around $40.00 on regular octaned gasoline for a fuel-efficient car. What can we do to get our president to lower these prices of gasoline?

  1. believe it or not, the fed govt. subsidizes the gas companies.

  2. It's 3.35 here in Georgia. It goes up almost every 2weeks.

  3. Nothing.  We have to wait until he is out of office.  Even then we will not see any relief.  Bush is controlled by Big Oil.  They got him elected and he played a big role in current oil prices as a favor to those that control him.  The only solution is for auto manufacturers to develop fuel efficient vehicles.  They have the ability to produce cars that get 70+ mpg already.  We have to force their hand and require them to put them on the market.

The price of gas is here to stay.  The day the first bomb was dropped in Iraq, Bush sealed the deal.

  4. Because the gov't is making money off this, there's not much we could do to convince them to lower the prices.

Not sure where you're at, but it's at 3.89 a gallon in SD for regular.

Half the stations have actually upped their prices to $4.12. Ridiculous.

  5. hey its more expensive in Ohio. ITs 3.39-3.49 it varies everyday.

  6. I also live in CA and drive an 07 Civic. We were in Phoenix, AZ last month and gas was $2.99 a gal. Super unleaded is over $4 here.  We are being gouged.

  7. I believe things won't get better until Bush is out of office, And when that happens, it's gonna take a while for things to come around for us. Here in Ohio the gas prices are no better either. Right now oil is $114 a barrel. The whole economy makes me sick!
