Question:

Thoughts on his top teeth coming in?

Ian's been cranky cranky cranky (not like him at all) for 3 weeks now. We've been assuming it was his top teeth finally coming in (he's 11 months old). At 6 months he got his first bottom tooth....we didn't even realize it had come in until we saw it one day...no fussing what so ever. When the 2nd bottom tooth came in on July 4th he fussed an entire day and that was it, but now these top ones are terrible!!! He's tossing and turning...having trouble sleeping...biting while he nurses....not eating his finger foods as well as he normally does...it's horrible!!! On the really bad days I've given him some tylenol and that seems to help for the most part. How long did it take your little ones top teeth to come in? Any ideas on how to speed the process along *I know this is a long shot*? And any ideas on comforting him while he is teething?? Thanks!!

  1. Kids can teeth on and off untill they get all their teeth. My son has just turned one and he has 4 teeth on the top and has just cut his third tooth. He was in soo much pain with the first two top teeth. We use childrens panadole and then tried the herbal teething drops / tablets and they worked a treat. All you can do it try different things until you find something that works.

  2. there's these nets you can get that you can put fruit, icecubes (put in crushed cubes is easier), frozen fruit...but you need to be careful washing them and you need to leave them out on a counter in a space it will dry because it has problems molding....

just sit your baby in a highchair with a bib and give it to him to suck on! worked for me! http://www.munchkin.com/products/detail....  you can get them at grocery stores in the baby section

check his gums and if you can see that there's white 'bumps' then he's probably teething

  3. Oh I feel for you, I think my baby is going through this right now, well first teeth for her. Patience is the key I guess lol

  4. my little one just got his first top tooth in and it was three times harder on him than the bottom two. tylenol helped and teething tablets. also ice cubes in a mesh feeder really soothed him or frozen fruit, he really liked watermelon. it took about a week or so to break through the skin and ounce it did he felt way better.poor little guy, good luck, thanks for the answer about my 9 month old not crawling!
