Thoughts on the place Blackpool?

i live there but gets rather boring, then again where else is more exciting? i only like it now though because of the people i know and the local places i go to, what's your opinion on blackpool?

For one of the posts above..... Chavs are everywhere and not just in Blackpool.... Try Wigan, Bolton, Manchester aswell!!

I live in Blackpool myself and think it is a cool place to live.... I moved up here from Manchester  when I was 12. Before that we used to come every other weekend.... there is always somthing to do and its all in one place!.

Opera house, Pleasure Beach, Tower, Zoo, Nightclubs, Golden Mile etc..... Also there are things going on throughout the year Illuminations, yearly firework championships, Air displays, Car displays.  These are the goodpoints.....

My only really badpoint about Blackpool is the nightlife! Nightlife in my opinion starts after 9:00pm (like the TV watershed) but in Blackpool its starts early morning. Over the years i have seen all sorts of sights on the promenade whilst familes have been walking past (stag and hen partys) doing all sorts of things, fighting all the time, guys tied naked to lamposts, s*x on the beach!! the list could go on. This is the thing that spoils it and gets the place a bad name.

Overall it a cracking holiday resort with lots to do for young and old. I love living here and would not move anywhere else in the Uk.

I love Blackpool.  I had my honeymoon there in 1970.  The weather was so stormy - 31st October, that one of the piers blew down and you were not allowed to walk on the sea front.  I have been there often since.  However, I wouldn't want to live there.  I am always glad to come back to Leeds.

I used to go to Blackpool quite often when I lived in Manchester.

It sucks.

Lived here all my life (46) but leaving for pastures new next Sunday, going somewhere quieter out of this Country.  Although there is a lot of crime here I feel it is safer than a lot of other places, if the press is anything to go by, I don't feel threatened when walking on the streets.

Today Blackpool is c**p it used to be excellent the trams don't go to Lytham St Ann's any more, the lights aren't. what they used to be. No disrespect to the residence. The Hotel proprietors Value for money there.

Sorry but it is a dump. I was there earlier this week just for the shopping and it has got worse since last time i was there about five years ago.

We go to Blackpool a couple of times a year, I like the place.

especially the lights. The last time I went,  I had a smoke in

the Happy Scotsman's Bar.

Its a good place to go for a fun weekend, altho i guess if that's normal for you it's not as fun if you can do it all the time.

It tries to entertain but in the end just takes your money.

The North side was built as classy, supposedly to leave the South side for the working class.........but even the North side now looks like a budget movie set.

Over-run with drunken idiots.

The Zoo is a joke.

For the money you spend there in a week, you could go abroad.

as a tourist I thought it was quite a dump ... but living there is very different ... I have a friend who lives to the north of Blackpool and she has a nice way of life

i like blackpool, plenty to do, and entertainment much better than where i live at present, just avoid the tourists places
