my grandmother gave me a sewing machine, but i have absolutely no idea how to use it besides what my aunt has shown me. now the underneath bobbin has run out of thread. i am hoping that i don't need to wind it by hand. this machine i guess is at least less than ten years old. any advice?

  1. Ask your aunt or your grandmother since they have used the machine before. You won't need to wind it by hand unless you can't wait till morning to phone them.

  2. It depends on the machine. What kind is it?

  3. If your grandmother or aunt aren't available, and you have no manual, post here with the make and model number of the machine, and someone will probably be able to help you.

There are a number of different winding mechanisms for bobbins, including wind in place, so it would be useful to know what we're dealing with.
