Thread tension on janome 9000

Question

the bobbin holder bunches up the thread and pops out of place causing the needle to go thru the bobbin hoder at the two o'clock postion. I believe it is being caused by the thread not freely going thru the first tension guide. I have taken the plastic o=plate off and cleaned and also ran dental floss thru and does not have any lint. Help! Thanks!
