Threads not catching to form stitches

Question

The threads on my Bernina Artista 170 aren't catching to form stitches. The top thread is not pulling the thread from the bobbin through the fabric. I've re-checked the threading of the top and bottom threads to make sure it's as it should be. All the embroidery unit tells me to do is check the top thread. Can anyone help please? TIA
