Three http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 legends declare their support for Hodgson
Roy Hodgson’s time at Anfield is seemingly coming to an end, following Liverpool’s shocking loss to Blackburn on Wednesday. Reports suggest that the Reds manager himself has lost all hope of retaining the manager’s chair after the dismal display at Ewood
Park. However, three Liverpool legends have backed the 63-year-old to turn things around at Anfield.
Kevin Keegan, John Barnes and Steve McManaman have all given Hodgson a vote of confidence, saying that they believe in the Liverpool manager’s ability to bring the club back to winning ways. Asked if the struggling Hodgson was capable of reversing Liverpool’s
fortunes, Keegan said, “In one word, yes, of course he can. The opportunity comes at Manchester United to get back on track. They've (Liverpool owners) got to give him time but it's the one thing you don't get, as we all know. The clock ticks on the wall and
managers don't get time. They chose him - they've got to back him.”
John Barnes believes that the Liverpool manager needs a couple of wins under his belt to regain the support of the fans and the owners. Barnes also emphasised the importance of the FA Cup clash against bitter rivals Manchester United. He said that a victory
in that match would go a long way towards turning Liverpool’s fortunes around.
Meanwhile, Steve McManaman reinforced the notion, saying, “Beat Man United, win the next league game, beat Everton, and everything's rosy again. Lose, lose, and lose and he'll struggle again.”
The backing of the three Liverpool legends will no doubt boost Hodgson’s confidence, as he prepares for the decisive encounter against Manchester United on Sunday. However, all the kind words and well-wishes will count for nothing if the Liverpool manager
doesn’t have the support from the club owners, New http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 Sport Ventures.
The owners are reportedly searching for a replacement for the 63-year-old in the wake of dwindling fan support. It remains to be seen whether the struggling manager can pull off an unlikely win against the Red Devils at Old Trafford. If he can somehow lead
Liverpool to a victory over their bitter rivals, it would be a huge boost to his chances of retaining the manager’s chair. If however, Hodgson stumbles yet again, it might just be the last slip-up of his short career as the Liverpool boss.
