Test in Seddon Park, Hamilton, which the visitors comfortably won by ten wickets on the third day of the match. He then proved his worth in both the innings of the second Test at Wellington, where he scored 73 and 81 runs.
Misbah-ul-Haq, the current skipper of Pakistan, also improved on his ranking. He jumped six places to secure the 30th spot. Misbah has been exceptionally impressive in the Test series, where he not only led the team as a wise leader, but also
performed tremendously as a batsman. The captain scored 62 runs in the Hamilton Test, making him the second highest scorer from Pakistan in that match, after Asad Shafiq who scored 83. In the second Test, Misbah fell one run short from scoring a century in
the first innings, while he continued his form in the second innings by remaining not out on 70.
Umar Gul is another Pakistani player who has gone up on the list. He managed to lift himself to the 17th spot, owing to his sensational bowling in New Zealand. The pacer is fast becoming the lead bowler for Pakistan. His five wicket hall in the
Hamilton Test and, then, eight wickets at Basin Reserve helped him improve his rating in the league of Test bowlers.
Pakistan's first Test series win in four years has improved the rating of the national team as well. The current team now stands at number 6, with 90 points, in Test cricket- just behind the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Pakistan currently need 17 points to pass the Aussies.
New Zealand, however, have lost 2 points and are currently placed at number 8 in Test cricket.
