Question:

Three Questions about Liquid Eyeliner?

I'm a little skeptical about purchasing drugstore brand eyeliner. I hear that Maybelline makes a good line, but I would rather invest a little more in an eyeliner that I really love than one that is just alright.

Three questions:

1) Is liquid eyeliner better in a stick (sort of with the felt tip brush) or in a brush (the brush pulls out of the pot)?

2) What is your favorite brand of liquid eyeliner and why?

3) If you could pick one eyeliner from Sephora (https://www.sephora.com/search/search_results.jhtml?%2Fcom%2Flvmh%2Fcommerce%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch%2Fiphrase%2Fproxy%2FIPhraseSearchFormHandler.search=search&_D%3A%2Fcom%2Flvmh%2Fcommerce%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch%2Fiphrase%2Fproxy%2FIPhraseSearchFormHandler.search=+&command=eq&attr1=Category&attr2=%3AMakeup%3AEyes%3AEyeliner&v0=chanel%2Bliquid%2Beyeliner&i=Product+id&s2=Name%2F%2F1&s1=Product+TopSellers%2F%2F0&s0=iphrase+relevance%2F%2F0&as=1&q=15&a0=Category%2F%2Fv%3A0&s=%24__session__%24&t=0&c1=t%3A0%2F%2F%3Assl%2F%2FCategory%2F%2F%3AMakeup%3AEyes%3A&c0=i%3A768%3BCategory%2CDescription%2CName%2CNo+Show+Category%2CProduct+Keywords%2CSku+Description%2CSku+Name%3Bliquid%2Ceyeliner%3B%3Aliquid%2Ceyeliner%3B%2B0+%2B1&searchString=&_DARGS=%2Fsearch%2Fsearch_results.jhtml), which one would it be?

Thanks in advance!

  1. 1) Better in a brush

    2) 2true from superdrug the brush is not floppy and stays on for a long period of time

    3)Does not  show the eyeliners

  2. 1) I think the tip brush would be easier to apply. If you use the brush that pulls out of the pot, be extra careful.

    2) I dont have a favorite brand, but I love MAC makeup.

    3) It doesn't matter to me, as long as it's safe! lol

  3. I think that liquid eyeliner is much better with a thin brush than the felt tip brush. The felt tip always goes on too thick and uneven to me. I only use rimmel london professional liquid eyeliner now after trying about 5 brands. It goes on smooth and straight and lasts about 18 hours without any base/primer. I don't see it at Sephora but you can actually buy it at drug stores, at least ones around here. If I had to choose one from the Sephora selection online I would either try the Sephora brand long lasting or the Bourjois.

  4. i've been using MAC liquid eyeliner for years.

and i love it because it comes in all different colors

    (i use blue herizon)

and it stays on for like EVER.

    but it's kind of pricey.

  5. Okay, for your first question, if you are picking between the two of those, then the brush in a pot would be the way to go. The eyeliners that are like pens dry out very easily and they don't always go on right, kinda like when a pen is running out of ink. BUT, i don't really like either of those kinds. I've tried both and they don't always work great.

As for the second question, my favorite brand of eyeliner is M.A.C. Fluidline. It is a little more expensive than the other drugstore brand eyeliners, but it lasts much longer and GREAT quality. I've had mine for months and i still have half of the pot left. I think it's about $16.00 which if you think about it, isn't bad at all considering how long it lasts you compared to drug store brand eyeliner. When i put it on in the morning it stays on all day without fading. The only thing is that it takes some practice because it comes in a little pot and you apply it with an eyeliner brush which can be tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it's really simple.

MAC also has an eyeliner that's like the brush that you pull out of the pot like you explained in the first question, although i've never tried that one.

And the third question, I have never tried any eyeliners from Sephora. I've never needed to because i love the MAC one so much.

    I hope i help you out a little. [:
