Three golfers to watch out for in 2013
Year 2012 has been full of surprises, nobody had predicted it the way it turned out to be.
We saw Tiger Woods getting back in form only to fade away in the Ryder Cup. Nevertheless, he had a great year.
Then, there was Rory McIlroy, who took the top honours by winning the PGA Championship and securing victories in two of the three FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Nobody had predicted that Ernie Els would be a major winner this year. Then Brandt Snedeker came from nowhere and won the FedEx Cup.
Golf is a sport, in which, it is difficult to predict the outcomes but here we look at three players to watch out for in 2013.
Rory McIlroy
Mr. McIlroy has achieved so much at this tender age that many of the pundits are comparing him with the likes of Tiger Woods. This comparison is too early to make.
The 23-year-old has only won two majors yet, but he is certainly not ending up with two only. The world number one will be more eager for success next year, as he bids to be one of the best in the business.
The Northern Irishman has so far only won two majors, the US Open and PGA Championship. The Open Championship and Masters Trophy still exclude him from that elite category of players who have won all four majors.
So, Rory McIlroy will be one man to watch out for in 2013, as he hopes to take over the golfing world.
Tiger Woods
By far, Tiger Woods had one of the best years, although he could not win a major in 2012. Still, he won three tournaments, finished the FedEx Cup on a high note and played some magnificent golf in the majors.
Many considered Tiger to be down and out but he roared back into action, as he made a stunning come back this season.
The former world number one has won fourteen majors so far. It is his aim to topple Jack Nicklaus and win the highest number of majors.
For that, he needs to win at least four more. Jack has won 18 majors as compared Tiger’s 14. A mammoth effort will be required by Tiger Woods to achieve this goal.
For Tiger, 2013 will all be about winning majors. This year he was very close to winning a major but his game diminished in the final two rounds.
Maybe, it was the pressure of winning a major. However, one thing is for sure, Woods will give everything to be the best in the sport once again.
Brandt Snedeker
The 31-year-old Ryder Cup rookie has surprised everybody this year with his breath taking shots. What he really needs is a major victory.
Brandt Snedeker has shown that he can defeat the best of the world when he won the FedEx Cup.
At the Ryder Cup, he showed that he can handle the pressure really well. For him to have a successful 2013 year would mean that he wins at least one major.
