I'm three months pregnant and my first doctors appointment is on September 8th. I'm wondering what they will do during my first visit. What types of tests, questions they will ask, etc. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

  1. Hi! You will get some blood work done, pee in a cup, you will get an u/s done and see a baby! (By this point it actually looks like a baby!) Listen for the heartbeat. You will get asked a lot of questions about your health history and your partners, so make sure he is there. You will get a ton of information to have fun and look over afterwards! You will get asked about all your symptoms and have the help you if needed. You will get weighed, have your blood pressure taken, get your official due date.

  2. Congratulations!

Hope you're not too sick. Ugh.

They listen for the baby's heart beat! Yeah, you get to hear it for the first time.  Check blood pressure, measure the size of uterus using a tape measure on your belly.  They find the top usually near the belly button and they find the bottom down below above the pubis.  You will be weighed, lots of family questions asked, for health reasons.  Urine is tested, maybe blood tests as well.  Sometimes they check the cervix.

Don't be scared, you'll be a great mommy.

  3. they will usually just take information of such as your health and any illnesses you have had or currently have. They will also ask about your health history and the Babies fathers heath history. they will also advise you what not to do whilst pregnant and the types of food to eat. This visit usually lasts 15-20 minutes. You will be given a book which is really handy and has every thing you need to know. You will also be given your personal records book which you take to every appointment so that they can record your blood pressure or any other important information The fun starts now!! good luck!!!
