Three more riders boost Endura Racing
The top-performing local team at the 2010 Tour of Britain, Endura Racing, continues to add more fire-power for the 2011 season. Alexander Wetterhall of former ProTour outfit, the Cervélo TestTeam, is among three more race winners signed to the team as part
of its continued effort to increase in scope, sportsmanship and ambition.
“We’ve got a lot more breadth and strength for next year and a great crew of support staff, so everyone here is pretty excited about it,” said team owner Jim McFarlane in a press release. “There’s a growing confidence that we can show well in Europe, even
in the bigger races that are starting to open up to us.”
Wetterhall is among 16 signing announced so far and one of three revealed on Wednesday, along with Paul Voss and Jack Anderson. The Swedish cyclist competed as a stagiaire for Cervélo in 2010 but was left unattached when the team disbanded at the end of
the season. He is the former Swedish nation time-trial champion and has won the FBD Rás.
“I’ll join Endura Racing with more motivation than ever after being caught out by Cervélo TestTeam’s folding,” said Wetterhall.
The 24-year-old Voss spent the last two years at team Milram and competed in the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a Espana. The German cyclist and Volta a Catalunya stage winner will be one of the most experienced stage racers on the team.
“I'm very happy to be part of this ambitious team in 2011. I will take my chances. I hope I can help the team to big victories with my experience from the ProTour,” said Voss.
Jack Anderson was the recent Under-23 Oceania time-trial champion and a silver medallist in the Australian time-trial championships.
"Signing for Endura is great news for me,” said Anderson. “They truly are a great professional team that are going places and have great ambitions for the future.
