Three-person jury yet to make decision on Ryan Braun’s failed drug test – MLB News
As the Milwaukee Brewers’ left fielder Ryan Braun awaits the three-person jury decision on the failed drug test, he will be the first Major Leaguer to have made a successful appeal. However, that is a prospect that cannot be reliably predicted at this juncture.
Unnamed sources claimed this week that the hearing of the appeal had begun on Thursday. This was big news keeping in mind the fact that Ryan Braun had already been reported to be delivering a speech on Saturday accepting the National League Most Valuable Player Award.
The very first report of Ryan Braun violating the MLB Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program was made known last year on December 10 that sent ripples throughout the baseball circles.
Having remained a permanent fixture of the Texas Rangers and being one of the inspiring and majestically impressive players, Ryan Braun’s failed drug test report was shocking not only for him but everyone related to him. His team-mates and fans were left in disbelief on hearing the allegations.
However, expectedly, those close to the left fielder declared his innocence. Ryan Braun has remained a model citizen; that is what the Brewers’ principal owner Mark Attanasio has always believed.
For the person of character and integrity, as Attanasio said, it was not fair for the fans to rush to judgement.
"It was not a PED, drug or steroid of any kind," one source very close to Braun said in a text message. "And there has never been a result like this in the history of the [MLB drug testing] program."
For the general manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, Douglas Robert Melvin, it is not right to comment at this time since he does not know anything about it. "I don't know anything about it," Melvin said Friday morning, "and it's not right for me to comment on something I don't know about."
When Ryan Braun takes the podium on Saturday to make his first public statement, it will be very unlikely that he speaks on the matter largely because it is sub judice. But nonetheless, the fans and team-mates alike will pay close attention to every word he utters.
