Three players emerge clubhouse leaders at the Volvo China Open – European Tour
Danish player, Dane Jeppe Huldahl, Gregory Havret of France and Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts have emerged as the joint clubhouse leaders on the second day of the Volvo China Open, in Chengdu, China.
All three players had a similar two-day score of 12-under par, 132 and lead the field by just one shot.
As the course is playing a little easy, the players are compelled to take advantage of the pin placements, as the second round of the four-day championship commenced early morning today.
Huldahl posted a great under par round on the second day. He had a score of seven-under par, 65 and looked completely flawless with his approach shots. The 29-year-old took full advantage of the pin placements and early morning weather conditions. He had
a total of eight birdies on his scorecard. Huldahl only made a single mistake, by making a bogey on his second hole.
The Danish golfer made a bogey on the par-3, 2nd where his tee shot was a bit wayward. His tee shot to the green landed in the bunker, as he failed to even make a par. Huldahl was quite happy with his round, as he made a great move up on the leader
board. He also was putting well, as he hit some beautiful approach shots which ended in birdies.
The experienced Havret has been playing well from the past couple of months. The French golfer posted a great round of six-under par, 66 which included just a single bogey. The experienced European Tour member also made seven superb birdies. His scorecard
shows that he was in superb form with his putter, as he finished the back-nine making three consecutive birdies.
Havret is now hoping to continue his game, in the next two rounds also.
Colsaerts was simply amazing on the second round and carded a composed round of five-under par, 67. His score card showed six birdies and a single bogey on the par-3, 17th. The 28-year-old has only made a single bogey after playing two rounds.
Overnight leader Chang-won Han is also among the contenders for title. The event continues to be an exciting one, as the players are carding under-par rounds.
