Question:

Three social customs of warriors as illustrated in Beowulf

I've come up with one, "Warriors get together and drink mead and tell tales of their adventures and exploits on their off time. In their culture, bragging about one’s heroic achievements is not seen as self-important and beating one’s own drum, but a sign of someone who seeks to protect his good name. If you’re a warrior, you become more successful as your stories of fame and fortune spread. " but I'm looking for two more. Any ideas?

Thank you all very much in advance

  1. Think of how Beowulf was brought to Hrothgar's Kingdom.  (A clue:  what was Hrothgar before he became king, and why did he feel he could ask Beowulf for help?  What do Beowulf and Hrothgar have in common?  Even bigger clue: (asking Beowulf for help).)

You actually have come up with two on your own.  Separate and elaborate what you have said.

(Getting together and drinking can be one because it is a social custom among themselves, and spreading their fame through stories is another because it is a social custom they have between themselves and the people.)
